Travel Smart is The Independent’s online travel video series, helping audiences plan smarter, more rewarding trips through practical advice and on-the-ground insight.

I led production across the series, shaping ideas with both the commercial and travel teams and seeing each episode through to final delivery. That meant producing, shooting, directing and editing, often moving between those roles within the same shoot. I organised shoots across the UK and abroad, filming in some incredible locations and working closely with presenters and contributors, directing on the fly to keep things feeling natural and sharp.

Alongside the editorial side, I worked closely with commercial partners sponsoring episodes on The Independent, making sure their needs were properly integrated without losing the tone or quality of the episodes.

It was a hands-on role that sat between creative and practical, making sure every episode not only looked good but genuinely informed and engaged the audience.
